Hargrave Military Academy Names Ben Veshi as College Counselor for 2017-18 School Year

Coach Ben Veshi is entering his second year at HMA and his first as a College Counselor.Ben graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a Minor in Business Administration from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina in May 2013.

After several years coaching basketball, he went back to college and earned a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts in August 2015.

Coach Veshi has spent five years in a college preparatory school: Marianapolis Prep in Thompson, Connecticut, both as a student and a basketball coach. This experience working with other boarding students and prep students is a bonus to Hargrave. Coach Veshi spent time with the college counselor at Marianapolis Prep, who is a great resource for him.

Ben has also spent time coaching at the collegiate level, where he spent two years as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Catawba College In addition; he served as the Recruiting Coordinator, which gave him the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the Admissions Department to make sure perspective student-athletes completed their admission process in a timely manner. That experience will help Ben excel in placing Hargrave cadets in multiple colleges over the next year.

During his first year at Hargrave, he substitute taught numerous times across various subjects where he was able to develop a great relationship with our cadets outside of athletics.

Currently residing in Chatham, Hargrave feels fortunate to have Ben Veshi on board.
