Post-Graduate Basketball Joins the Fight with Jimmy V

Hargrave hosts ‘The Pepsi Fight Against Cancer Challenge’ on January 16th, 2013 @ 7:00 p.m. vs. the University of North Carolina JV team in the Academy’s Walter Davis Gymnasium.
‘The Pepsi Fight Against Cancer Challenge’ is a partnership of Hargrave, Pepsi, the Danville Regional Medical Center and Dick Vitale, a retired sportscaster, to raise cancer awareness and provide a fundraiser for the ‘Fight.’ All proceeds from this event will be going to The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
The event will be highlighted by a special pregame presentation featuring ESPN’s own Dave Telep. Pink shirts will be given away at the door with the purchase of a ticket. The event will be an official PINK OUT. “Please support the Pepsi Challenge at Hargrave Military Academy. They are helping in the battle against cancer, a disease that affects all whether one is rich or poor, black or white. That disease can bring you to your knees. We must all unite to beat that disease,” said Dick Vitale, a Hall of Fame announcer.
Vitale is one of the most prominent figures of The V Foundation. He was inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.
Hargrave’s Post Graduate Basketball Team Features some of the best rising student-athlete talent in the country. Team members include four players ranked in the top 100. Cadet Anton Gill of Raleigh, North Carolina (signed with Louisville); Cadet Terry Rozier of Cleveland, Ohio (signed with Louisville); Cadet Greg McClinton of Winston-Salem, North Carolina (signed with Wake Forest) and Cadet Donte Clark of Charlotte, North Carolina (signed with Virginia Tech).
Doors open at 5:45 p.m. ESPN’s Dave Telep will speak at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10.
