Rev. Ed Pope Delivers Message
The Rev. Ed Pope, the pastor of White Oak Missionary Baptist Church located in Dry Fork, Virginia, was Hargrave’s guest speaker during Tuesday, November 1, 2011 chapel. Rev. Pope spoke at length on this important character issue, and helped kick-off the character theme for the month of November.
Reverend Pope is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the Vietnam War. He has been serving as the Pastor of White Oak Missionary Baptist Church and ministering to the people of Pittsylvania County for 29 years through organizations like the Danville Church Based Tutorial Program, where he serves as the President of the Board.
Hargrave has been blessed to have Rev. Pope speak on several occasions. Tuesday’s message was based on Psalm 15 and the call to be men of integrity. In his message he encouraged the corps that becoming men of integrity starts with a relationship with the Lord who as quoted from Titus 1:2 “… which God, who cannot lie…” because God is truth and that being men of our word will strengthen the relationships in their lives.
