Cadet Aharown Campbell Named Fall 2011 Marlin Barnes Memorial Award Winner

Cadet Aharown Campbell has been named the Marlin Barnes Memorial Award winner for the first semester of the 2011/2012 academic year. The award is given to a Post-Graduate football Cadet who exemplifies academic excellence, strong character, leadership and good attitude. These are same the characteristics that Marlin Barnes displayed throughout his career at North Miami High School, Hargrave and at the University of Miami until his untimely death in 1996.
Candidates must have the following: 3.0 or Higher GPA at Hargrave Military Academy; 1000 SAT (old Math & Verbal score); 100 ACT/25 Composite; on the Meritorious Performers List; have no Honor Code violations. Additionally, the Cadet must hold a position of leadership on and off the barracks; on and off the field; and have positive feedback from the Military department.
We will award two winners a year, a Fall recipient and a Spring recipient, who are nominated by the Director of Post-Graduate Football with the final selection made by the President of Hargrave Military Academy. The winner will receive an engraved plaque as well as have his name appear on “The Marlin Barnes Memorial Award” plaque which hangs outside the Post-Graduate Football Office.
