Utilizing technology via wireless networks and laptop computers is an essential part of the CIS curriculum. The use of the technology is critical not only for completing current work, but for helping Cadets to see the importance and application of the computer for their school career success in high school and beyond.
Cadets access computers in their classrooms to complete in-class assignments and to broaden their learning outside of the classroom. Specific applications include daily use for accelerated math and reading programs, utilizing as a diagnostic tool for assessing their skill level on newly taught material, and for use in the Lego Education Robotics program. In addition, students are required to complete projects utilizing PowerPoint, Word and on-line research capabilities.
All Hargrave cadets are assigned an individual email address. CIS students have access to computers in multiple common area venues for email capabilities.
