Financial
Information 2007/08
In order
to ensure the timely payment of Cadet accounts and
to provide a basis of action for non-compliance, the
Board of Trustees has directed the President to implement
the following comprehensive policy regarding payment
of the enrollment fee: 1. Charges
All Hargrave
Military Academy charges will be paid in accordance
with the following schedule. Your personal check,
VISA, Master Card, American Express, or Discover Card
will be accepted.
a. Application Fee: $75.00
for U.S. Resident; $150.00 for Non-U.S. Resident; U.S. funds, non-cash, to be supplied with application. This
fee is non-refundable.
b. A $2000.00
non-refundable deposit is due within 14 days after receiving the Letter of
Acceptance. The $2000.00 will be credited to your first
tuition payment.
c. For
tuition, please refer to Tuition
Plans.
2. Required
Uniform Fee
a. Hargrave does not permit
civilian clothing, thus all clothing worn (with
the exception of underwear, sleeping apparel, etc.)
on campus, and to and from the Academy, will be
of the standard uniform issued to all Cadets or
articles that are authorized to be purchased through
the gift shop on campus.
b. The
initial uniform issue is included in the enrollment fee for
all new boarding Cadets.
1. $2,200.00 covers
the complete uniform including a Hargrave backpack, gym clothing, dress
shoes, camouflage fatigues, school clothing, combat
boots and formal dress. A complete list of articles
will be furnished by our quartermaster should
you wish that information. Second semester student
uniform cost, (boarding student only), is included
in Tuition Plans.
2. Students
who purchase more than the standard allotment
or
will be charged for such.
3. Initial "rank" issue is provided by the Academy at no cost.
4. Returning
students will be billed for replacement of uniforms
as purchased.

Note:
Special courses, such as art and advanced mathematics,
may require the purchase of additional supplies not
covered in the enrollment fees. 4.
Hargrave Student Fund - Boarding Students Only
The Academy requires that parents deposit money
in the Hargrave Student Fund to cover their son's
weekly allowance (suggested amounts range from $15
to $20 weekly). In addition to the weekly allowance,
a $350 incidental fee and a $200 damage fee and lock
deposit are also required. The incidental fee is used
for weekend passes, emergency travel, ring orders,
college applications, SAT/ACT tests, etc. and the
damage fee will be used to cover any damage done by
the Cadet and will be returned at the end of the school
year if there are no damage charges and your account
is paid in full.
5. Health
and Accident Insurance
Included in your fees is a supplemental insurance
policy which provides 24-hour accident coverage for
your son during the school year. All students must
be covered by a personal health insurance plan.
6. Financial
Obligations
a. The signing of the
HONOR CODE by the student on his registration day
begins the one school year financial obligation
of the parents (guardian) to the Academy.
b. Upon
Withdrawal or Dismissal from the Academy, the enrollment
fee for the remainder of the school year will be
charged and is due upon demand along with remaining
balance of Cadet's account.
c. Second
Semester Enrollees - When a student enters the Academy
for second semester only, the signing of the HONOR
CODE on his registration day begins the financial
obligation of the parents (guardian) to the Academy.
d. An
Enrollment contract and Promissory note for full
year enrollment is required.
7. Any
Account in Arrears will be subject to the following:
a. The Academy will assess
a finance charge of 1 1/2% per month (18% per year)
against all charges unpaid thirty days after their
due date.
b. Cadets
whose accounts are not current will be not be permitted
to take mid term / final exams and may be dismissed
or required to withdraw from school.
c. Account
will be turned over to a collection agency, all
fees will be paid by parent (guardian).
d. The
student's academic transcript will not be released.
